Uh-oh

Hmm, I seem to have doomed myself from the start, as I am running eclipse in ubuntu in a vm in windows and it appears that this setup will be too slow for me to be productive in. the laptop I'm currently using is not mine so I don't have the option to dual boot. I'll need to figure something else out.

The Set Up

Updates:
-created an unfuddle account to take advantage of their free SVN repositories
-downloaded/installed cmake
-installed Eclipse in Linux and imported the latest stable version of OpenCV

To do before Monday:
-fix errors that cropped up when editing in Eclipse--probably forgot to link in one of the libraries or something
-test workflow with sample projects

Project Proposal

The goal of this project is to contribute to the GroZi project here at UCSD. It's aim is to act as a guide to provide a more autonomous shopping experience for the visually impaired. My piece of the puzzle will come into play after the targeted product has been recognized. I will track the hand and the product and provide either sonic or (eventually) haptic feedback in order to successfully guide the hand to the product.

The proposal can be found here.
